Our story
A lot of our friends and family in India come from communities where a personal computer just isn't something you grow up with — even though it's the difference between keeping up in school and falling behind.
Where it started
So many of us grew up hearing stories from relatives and family friends in India about how much harder school was without a computer at home — no way to look things up, practice typing, or do basic research that we've always taken for granted. It kept coming up, so we decided to actually do something about it instead of just talking about it.
What we're building
Buying a laptop and shipping it off isn't enough on its own. We pair every batch of Chromebooks with a short, simple starter course in the school's own language, so a device doesn't just sit in a closet — a student is actually using it within days of it arriving.
Where we are right now
We're a young nonprofit — we're not going to pretend otherwise. Right now we're actively building relationships with schools in India to identify where the need is greatest, while we raise the funds to make the first shipment happen. We'll share real updates as partnerships are finalized, not before.
We're vetting schools in India to find where Chromebooks will have the most impact.
Every donation brings our first real shipment of devices closer to happening.
We'll post real updates on where funds go and which schools we partner with, as it happens.
"Together, we can give students the tools they need to reach their full potential — no matter where they were born."
— The ChromeKind teamWhether it's a donation or a few hours a week, early support goes further than you'd think.
